We are happy to announce that we are changing our most likely personas (buyer, influencer, champion) feature on June 3 2022, in favor of pushing this information directly on the Lead and Contact objects. This change offers you more customization and flexibility options to configure and surface personas in Salesforce:
- surface on the account layout to your Sales team more than one name per persona
- use enrichment (job title, user role...) from your CRM or other sources in addition to MadKudu's providers
- customize the persona names to use labels like Economic Buyer, Technical Decision Maker...
- use as many persona labels as you need and not be limited to Buyer/Influencer/Champion
On June 3, 2022, MadKudu will stop populating the following Salesforce fields on the Account object.
- mk_most_likely_buyer_lead__c
- mk_most_likely_buyer_contact__c
- mk_most_likely_influencer_lead__c
- mk_most_likely_influencer_contact__c
- mk_most_likely_champion_lead__c
- mk_most_likely_champion_contact__c
Any new account created will not have these fields populated by MadKudu, and existing accounts will not have these fields updated by MadKudu.
To prepare for this change, you can already push the Persona computation at the Lead and Contact level, and display it on the Account object.
We understand you might want to delay this change to a specific time (no later than July 1st, 2022) to minimize quarter-end changes... Feel free to reply to this email to discuss such matters.
How to surface the new Personas on the Account object?
Pre-requisites
- You can create fields in Salesforce and edit the Lead, Contact and Account layout
- You have the permissions of an Admin role in your MadKudu account
Be prepared to switch between your Salesforce account and your MadKudu account.
- In MadKudu Data Studio, edit the definition of the persona computation already set up
- studio.madkudu.com > Computation > search "Persona" and select ALL

- In Salesforce, create a field "MK Persona" on the Lead and Contact object
- Type: Text (255)
- Label: MK Persona
- Name: mk_persona
- Description: Classification of persona based on title, role or seniority, populated by MadKudu product and configured in MadKudu Data Studio.
- In Salesforce, add the MK Persona field on the Lead and Contact layout
- In Salesforce, add on the Account layout the list of leads/contacts with the persona field
- Head to Setup > Object Manager > Account > Page Layout > select your layout
- Create contact and/or lead window
- Click on the little wrench on the Contact list and add your new field(s)
- In your MadKudu Account, go to Settings> Push, and edit the configuration to start syncing the Persona computation to Salesforce
