We’re excited to share with you that we’re upgrading our Account Likelihood to Buy scoring.
The upgrade of the Account scoring logic is scheduled for Friday, June 3, 2022 after 3pm PT.
We are releasing an updated logic prioritizing the explicit mapping between Accounts and their Contacts/Leads from Salesforce. This will allow to score accounts based on their attached users, rather than matching them only by the domain.
With this update, the Likelihood to Buy scores, signals, and aggregations will better reflect the activity and hierarchy of your accounts.
The Likelihood to Buy scores, signals and aggregations may change for accounts impacted by this change.
Here is an example of how account scores may change:
Let’s say you have 2 IBM accounts in Salesforce and 4 users in total with an ibm.com email.
Today, both accounts have the same score because looking at the activity of all the ibm.com people, regardless of Account <> Contact/Lead mapping in Salesforce.
With the upgrade, these two accounts that have different people attached will potentially get a different score:
- Account IBM US has domain ibm.com
- John, Jack, James, Jenny and Jess are attached to this account in Salesforce, with and without an ibm.com email address.
- Account IBM France has domain ibm.com
- Mary and Mike are attached to this account in Salesforce, with and without an ibm.com email address.
Additionally, if firstname.lastname@example.org recently signed up and was created in another system but not synced yet to Salesforce, his activity can still be counted in the IBM US account based on a domain matching.
The configuration of the account models (events, weights, thresholds...) will not be changed during this upgrade. User-level scores, computations, and signals will not be impacted either.
We understand you might want to delay this change to a specific time (no later than July 1st, 2022) to minimize quarter-end changes... Feel free to reach out to email@example.com to discuss such matters.
We’re here for you!
