Prerequisite :
- You have the Architect or Admin permissions
Objective: Your leadership has decided to target a new segment that hasn't performed well historically. Because of historical data, your Sales team might see leads belonging to this segment as unqualified. You want to make sure this new segment is surfaced to your Sales.
Solution: You could apply an override to boost that target segment to "good" or "very good".
Step-by-step guide:
- Duplicate your live model
- In the duplicate model, create a computation with that target segment definition: How to create a computation in the Data Studio?
- Once your computation has been published and your dataset reloaded, check the performance of the segment you defined in the insights page. If the lift is > 0.5 on a significant number of leads ( conversions > 100), it means that the target segment is "performing". If not, this might mean that historically you may not have had that many leads or even conversions in those target segment. In that case, make sure to re-assess whether or not you want to boost this segment's visibility for your Sales, given that you do not have data evidence that it will convert well.
- Create the override with the target segment definition: A few tips to create relevant overrides
- Once the override has been deployed, validate the performance of this update on your model: compare both Performance tabs (under 'Review') of your live and duplicate model.
