Dear valued Customer,
We are excited to announce the launch of MadKudu Visitor ID coming up in 2023 as an essential element in enabling MadKudu for ABM. It will allow you to get more information on the intent of your target accounts by analyzing your anonymous traffic.
What Is MadKudu Visitor ID?
MadKudu Visitor ID deanonymizes your web traffic by identifying which company your anonymous visitors work for. It relies on the data collected from your web visitors through the MadKudu Tag installed on your website or through your integrations connected to MadKudu. By capturing the IP address of each visitor, MadKudu can determine which company they work for by looking up the domain associated with the IP in our database. So you’ll know when companies are showing interest in your product without waiting for them to fill out a form! Plus you'll be able to measure how your ABM campaigns are driving meaningful engagement on your website.
What Changes?
For customers with the MadKudu Tag installed on their website or sending us their web traffic through an integration (e.g. through Segment, Amplitude, Marketo...) your agreement with us will be updated to reflect a change in our controllership role from Data Processor (or Service Provider) to Data Controller (or Business). With this change to our controllership role comes greater responsibility for the acceptable use of the data that we process. To align with these changes, we have added new Controller Terms to our standard Data Processing Addendum (“DPA”) available here, and updated our Privacy Policy
It is important to note that the new Controller Terms of the DPA will only apply to the processing of personal data collected for the purpose of MadKudu Visitor ID ("Controller Data") described in the DPA. The Controller Terms will automatically be effective and apply to your, or your organization’s, continued use of our services as of Aug 31, 2023. No further action is required on your part.
Other Considerations
You may want to consider updating your website Privacy Notice, Cookie Banner, and Cookie Notice to reflect these changes as may be applicable and provide notice to the user. Consider adding the following language to your notices:
”We share the personal data that we collect from and about you, as described throughout this privacy notice, with MadKudu, Inc. who processes and further shares that personal data as an independent data controller. To learn more about how and why MadKudu, Inc. processes and shares your personal data, please review their privacy notice.”
We understand the importance of user privacy and data control. Just as users have the right to opt out of personal data sharing, you have the ability to opt out of sharing your data with MadKudu for the purpose of the Visitor ID. By exercising this option, MadKudu will stop processing your users' data for the purposes described above, and only the Processor terms of the DPA will be applicable. To opt-out please reach out to privacy@madkudu.com.
Thank you for your continued trust and support. Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us at privacy@madkudu.com or your dedicated account manager.
Best regards,
MadKudu, Inc.
